40-hour HAZWOPER Training, from Safety Helpers. OSHA HAZWOPER Training. The 40-hour HAZWOPER Training class is required for hazardous site workers.

40-hour HAZWOPER Training

40-hour HAZWOPER training is required for workers that perform activities that expose or potentially expose them to hazardous substances.

40-hour HAZWOPER Training is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Topics include protection against hazardous chemicals, elimination of hazardous chemicals, safety of workers and the environment and OSHA regulations. This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120.
Workers must have 40-hours of initial training before they may enter the site and OSHA typically will ask for proof of this training during "Audits". The worker may be asked to provide proof they completed 8-hour annual HAZWOPER Refresher classes to keep the certification "current".
